The ELCA has over 4 million members across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands
It's a member of the Lutheran World Federation
We are the unified body that came together as one church after a period of immigration and ethnic divisions
We focus on God's grace and love for all people, the power of the Holy Spirit to speak to us through the Living Word of God and the Holy Bible, and the importance of the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism, means through which we experience God's grace for us
Equip leaders and congregations to continue to grow in vitality
We partner and support a number of local organizations and coalitions:
West Duluth Churches: We work with other congregations in the greater West Duluth area; collaborating to provide Thanksgiving and Good Friday Worship, a shared fund for those with emergency needs, weekly worship services at NorthShore Estates, and monthly gatherings for clergy
CHUM: We host CHUM West Duluth Food Shelf in our building. As a congregation and as individual members, we support the good work of CHUM.
Faith Haven Senior Apartments: Our congregation and its leaders were among those who founded this low-income senior housing complex. Today, some of our members live here and we always welcome guests from Faith Haven. Our pastor follows those before her in serving on the Board of Directors.
Lutheran Social Services: Providing financial counseling, housing support for teens and young adults, clinic, and LGBTQIA+ Youth Group
