New volunteer opportunity
Our church treasurer, Jan Thornton, is planning on traveling more, but she needs someone to come in and help her with the treasurer duties. If you are interested call Jan at 729-6137. Bookkeeping experience is helpful but not necessary.
New church leadership
Our new Parish Planning Council and members of the ministry teams have been duly installed. A list of our new church leadership is on the bulletin board outside the library or on this website under "church leadership." Please support these people in their efforts to lead this congregation in the ensuing years.
New adult forum coming
Summer adult forums will continue on Sunday, July 13th at 9am. Paul's letter to the Romans will be the subject of a series of adult forums through the rest of the summer. Pastor John will lead a study on this important letter that is sometimes referred to as the '"Fifth Gospel."
Finishing up current adult forum series
Adult forums continue next Sunday with the final forum on the proposed draft of the ELCA social statement on human sexuality. There will be a synod hearing on this document in the fall. The purpose of these forums has been on to allow comment and questions on the proposed document. Those comments will be forwarded to the task force on human sexuality and will help shape the final document. Copies of the statement can be downloaded at www.elca.org/faithfuljourney

Our church treasurer has informed us that we are $3,931.52 behind in our bills. If you are behind in your pledge please make every effort to catch up. Also, remember that the members of the Parish Planning Council have pledged to donate 10% of their stimulus checks. If you are able, please consider doing the same.
YouthWorks!
Welcome to Youthworks staff. Four staff members, Heather, Lauren, Meghan, are living at the church this summer and heading up youth mission projects in the area. They will be in charge of 60 to 70 students per week, also living at the church. Please keep these staff members and the visiting students in your prayers this summer.
Help for the low-income
Pastor's discretionary fund is running low. With the rise in gas prices, Pastor John has seen a marked increase in the number of people requesting gas vouchers. People are having trouble getting to work and appointments. If you would like to give to this fund see Pastor John.
Picture Directory
After assessing congregational interest in a new, color pictoral directory, we need a committee to take this project on. This directory will be produced in the fall so there's plenty of time to get organized. If you are interested, please contact Pastor John.
